Overall, imports continue to indicate a noticeable reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2009 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, imports failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, optical fiber cables imports fell to $X in 2020. In general, imports recorded a mild decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2020, the growth imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
