Exports from Finland
In 2021, the amount of almonds exported from Finland fell significantly to X kg, with a decrease of -X% compared with 2020 figures. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X tonnes in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, almond exports fell sharply to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, saw significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by X% year-to-year. The exports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
The United States (X kg) was the main destination for almond exports from Finland, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, almond exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the UK (X kg), threefold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Australia (X kg), with an X% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to the United States amounted to -X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the UK (X% per year) and Australia (+X% per year).
In value terms, the United States ($X), Australia ($X) and the UK ($X) constituted the largest markets for almond exported from Finland worldwide, with a combined X% share of total exports.
Australia, with a CAGR of +X%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average almond export price amounted to $X per tonne, growing by X% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a noticeable slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of X% y-o-y. The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Australia ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to China ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Australia (+X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Finland
In 2021, supplies from abroad of almonds decreased by -X% to X tonnes, falling for the fourth consecutive year after three years of growth. In general, imports, however, recorded moderate growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tonnes in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, almond imports reduced dramatically to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded modest growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Estonia (X tonnes) constituted the largest supplier of almond to Finland, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, almond imports from Estonia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Netherlands (X tonnes), threefold.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Estonia amounted to +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (-X% per year) and Sweden (+X% per year).
In value terms, Estonia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of almond to Finland, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by the Netherlands ($X), with a X% share of total imports.

In 2021, the average almond import price amounted to $X per tonne, falling by -X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average import price increased by X% year-to-year. The import price peaked at $X per tonne in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Estonia ($X per tonne), while the price for the Netherlands ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Estonia (-X%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
