As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, invalid carriage exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Germany (X units), distantly followed by Belgium (X units), the Netherlands (X units), France (X units), Poland (X units) and Sweden (X units) represented the key exporters of invalid carriages not mechanically propelled, together making up 82% of total exports. The following exporters - Spain (X units) and Denmark (X units) - together made up 7.1% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Spain (with a CAGR of +13.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest invalid carriage supplier in Europe, comprising 32% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by France ($X), with a 13% share of total exports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with an 11% share.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the export price increased by 12% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2016 to 2021, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Denmark ($X per unit), while Belgium ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (-0.2%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.9% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, invalid carriage imports soared to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Germany (X units), distantly followed by the UK (X units), Italy (X units), France (X units), the Netherlands (X units), Spain (X units), Belgium (X units), Poland (X units) and Russia (X units) were the main importers of invalid carriages not mechanically propelled, together mixing up 86% of total imports.
Imports into Germany increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Poland (+18.2%), Spain (+11.6%), Italy (+9.0%), Belgium (+8.9%), France (+6.6%), the Netherlands (+6.3%), the UK (+5.6%) and Russia (+2.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Poland emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Europe, with a CAGR of +18.2% from 2012-2021. While the share of Poland (+3.4 p.p.), Spain (+2.7 p.p.) and Italy (+2.1 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Germany (-7.5 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Germany ($X), the UK ($X) and France ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together accounting for 39% of total imports. These countries were followed by Russia, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain and Poland, which together accounted for a further 37%.
Poland, with a CAGR of +15.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Europe stood at $X per unit in 2021, picking up by 8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable downturn. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Spain ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+4.9%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
