From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Germany amounted to +28.2%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Spain (+37.1% per year) and the Netherlands (+23.7% per year).

The export price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 11% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the export price increased by 52% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while Romania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Italy (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and Germany (X tons) represented roughly 46% of total imports in 2021. In value terms, Italy ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Germany ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 41% share of total imports. These countries were followed by France, the UK, Belgium, Spain, Poland, Slovenia, Sweden, Hungary, Norway and Russia, which together accounted for a further 44%.
Poland, with a CAGR of +65.4%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 11%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per ton), while Sweden ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
