Exports in the EU

In 2022, the amount of wool grease and fatty substances exported in the European Union shrank notably to X tons, declining by X% against 2021 figures. In general, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, wool grease exports shrank slightly to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then declined modestly in the following year.

Exports by Country

The shipments of the four major exporters of wool grease and fatty substances, namely Belgium, Germany, the Czech Republic and Italy, represented more than two-thirds of total export. The following exporters - Bulgaria (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) - each accounted for an X% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Bulgaria (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
