Exports in the EU
In 2023, approx. X tons of ureines and their derivatives and salts thereof were exported in the European Union; waning by X% on the previous year's figure. Overall, exports continue to indicate a noticeable decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2023, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, ureines exports reduced to $X in 2023. In general, exports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2022, and then dropped in the following year.
Exports by Country
Germany represented the key exporter of ureines and their derivatives and salts thereof in the European Union, with the volume of exports recording X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2023. The Netherlands (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Austria (X%), Hungary (X%) and the Czech Republic (X%). Spain (X tons) held a minor share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2023, average annual rates of growth with regard to ureines exports from Germany stood at X%. At the same time, the Czech Republic (X%), the Netherlands (X%) and Spain (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Czech Republic emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the European Union, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. By contrast, Hungary (X%) and Austria (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the Netherlands (X p.p.) and the Czech Republic (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2023, the share of Germany (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest ureines supplier in the European Union, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Netherlands ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by the Czech Republic, with an X% share.
From 2012 to 2023, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Germany totaled X%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the Netherlands (X% per year) and the Czech Republic (X% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in the European Union stood at $X per ton in 2023, which is down by X% against the previous year. Export price indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2023: its price increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last eleven years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2023 figures, ureines export price increased by X% against 2021 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the export price increased by X%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2022, and then dropped in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2023, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($X per ton), while Hungary ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in the EU
For the third year in a row, the European Union recorded growth in purchases abroad of ureines and their derivatives and salts thereof, which increased by X% to X tons in 2023. In general, imports, however, recorded a perceptible reduction. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, ureines imports expanded rapidly to $X in 2023. Overall, imports, however, recorded a mild curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when imports increased by X%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2023, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
The countries with the highest levels of ureines imports in 2023 were Spain (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and Germany (X tons), together recording X% of total import. France (X tons) took an X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Belgium (X%). Austria (X tons) and Italy (X tons) took a little share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2023, the biggest increases were recorded for the Netherlands (with a CAGR of X%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Spain ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and France ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2023, with a combined X% share of total imports.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2023 figures, ureines import price decreased by X% against 2021 indices.
