Exports in the EU

In 2022, overseas shipments of railway or tramway passenger coaches (not self-propelled) decreased by X% to X units, falling for the third year in a row after four years of growth. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a moderate expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, railway passenger coach exports contracted sharply to $X in 2022. Overall, exports showed a noticeable decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Hungary (X units) represented the major exporter of railway or tramway passenger coaches (not self-propelled), committing X% of total exports. Export Prices by Country

The export price in the European Union stood at $X per unit in 2022, jumping by X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a drastic downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X,785 per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($X,956 per unit), while Sweden ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
