Exports in the EU

For the fifth consecutive year, the European Union recorded growth in shipments abroad of sacks and bags of cotton, which increased by X% to X tons in 2022. In general, exports saw a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, cotton bag exports reached $X in 2022. Overall, exports saw prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

In 2022, Italy (X tons), distantly followed by France (X tons), Portugal (X tons), Germany (X tons), Poland (X tons), Bulgaria (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and Latvia (X tons) were the main exporters of sacks and bags of cotton, together mixing up X% of total exports.

Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

In value terms, cotton bag imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a remarkable increase.
