Exports in the EU

Quicklime exports contracted to X tons in 2022, shrinking by -9.3% on the year before. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 14%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, quicklime exports surged to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

France (X tons) and Germany (X tons) represented roughly 46% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Belgium (X tons), Spain (X tons), Slovakia (X tons) and Poland (X tons), together mixing up a 31% share of total exports. Spain, Slovakia, Poland, Italy, Portugal, Croatia, Finland, the Czech Republic, Sweden and Austria lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 32%.
