The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tonnes in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, pyrites imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded moderate growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

In 2021, Italy (X tonnes) represented the main importer of pyrites, generating X% of total imports. Spain (X tonnes) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a X% share, followed by Germany (X%). The following importers - Denmark (X tonnes), Slovenia (X tonnes) and Austria (X tonnes) - each resulted at a X% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to pyrites imports into Italy stood at +X%. At the same time, Denmark (+X%), Spain (+X%) and Slovenia (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Denmark emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the European Union, with a CAGR of +X% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Austria (-X%) and Germany (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Slovenia ($X per tonne), while Denmark ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
