Newsprint Exports

Exports in the EU

For the tenth year in a row, the European Union recorded decline in shipments abroad of newsprint, which decreased by X% to X tons in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate a abrupt contraction. The smallest decline of X% was in 2016. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, newsprint exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, exports showed a abrupt contraction. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

The shipments of the five major exporters of newsprint, namely Germany, France, Belgium, Sweden and Austria, represented more than two-thirds of total export. It was distantly followed by Spain (X tons), comprising a X% share of total exports. Finland (X tons) held a little share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Austria (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.

The following importers - Belgium (X tons), Sweden (X tons), Austria (X tons), Spain (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), Denmark (X tons), Finland (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) - together made up X% of total imports.
