Natural Cork Exports

Exports in the EU

Natural cork exports shrank to X tons in 2022, falling by X% against the year before. Overall, exports saw a slight curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, natural cork exports dropped modestly to $X in 2022. In general, exports saw a pronounced shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Spain prevails in exports structure, reaching X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2022. The following exporters - Poland (X tons), Portugal (X tons), France (X tons), Slovakia (X tons) and Italy (X tons) - together made up X% of total exports.

Exports from Spain decreased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Slovakia (X%), Poland (X%) and France (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Slovakia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the European Union, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by X% against 2017 indices.
