Plaster Exports

Exports in the EU

In 2022, approx. X tons of plaster were exported in the European Union; dropping by X% on the year before. Overall, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, plaster exports reduced to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then shrank in the following year.

Exports by Country

In 2022, Germany (X tons) was the key exporter of plaster, creating X% of total exports. France (X tons) took an X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Spain (X%). The following exporters - Poland (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), Austria (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) - together made up X% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to plaster exports from Germany stood at X%. At the same time, the Netherlands (X%), the Czech Republic (X%), Spain (X%) and France (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Netherlands emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the European Union, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Poland experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while Spain ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, overseas purchases of plaster increased by X% to X tons, rising for the fourth year in a row after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, plaster imports rose modestly to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Belgium (X tons) and Portugal (X tons) represented the largest importers of plaster in the European Union, together resulting at approx. X% of total imports.
