The Netherlands (X tons), Spain (X tons), Germany (X tons), Italy (X tons), France (X tons), Poland (X tons), Hungary (X tons), Slovakia (X tons), Sweden (X tons), Belgium (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons) and Greece (X tons) represented roughly 91% of total exports in 2022.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Greece (with a CAGR of +42.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the Netherlands ($X), Italy ($X) and Germany ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined 53% share of total exports. Spain, Sweden, France, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Belgium and Greece lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 36%.
Greece, with a CAGR of +32.2%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in the European Union stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while Belgium ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in the EU
In 2022, overseas purchases of gym and fitness equipment decreased by -47.2% to X tons for the first time since 2015, thus ending a six-year rising trend. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a temperate expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 55%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, gym and fitness equipment imports plummeted to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, posted a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 62% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then contracted significantly in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Germany (X tons), distantly followed by the Netherlands (X tons), France (X tons), Spain (X tons), Poland (X tons), Italy (X tons) and Sweden (X tons) were the main importers of gym and fitness equipment, together comprising 74% of total imports. Greece (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), Austria (X tons), Belgium (X tons), Denmark (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) held a little share of total imports.

In value terms, the largest gym and fitness equipment importing markets in the European Union were Germany ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and France ($X), together accounting for 47% of total imports. Spain, Sweden, Poland, Italy, Austria, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Hungary and Greece lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 42%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Greece, with a CAGR of +15.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the import price in the European Union amounted to $X per ton, surging by 9.5% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.4%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the import price increased by 20% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per ton), while Greece ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+3.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
