Over the period under review, the exports of attained the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
In value terms, exports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments reached $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports of attained the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

The shipments of the eight major exporters of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments, namely Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, Denmark and Poland, represented more than two-thirds of total export.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +31.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Italy ($X), Germany ($X) and Belgium ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, together accounting for 46% of total exports. The Netherlands, France, Spain, Poland and Denmark lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 38%.
Poland, with a CAGR of +25.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in the European Union stood at $X per unit in 2021, approximately equating the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the export price increased by 5.4%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per unit), while Spain ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Denmark (-1.0%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in the EU
After five years of growth, purchases abroad of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments decreased by -16.5% to X units in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 68%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units, and then shrank markedly in the following year.

The countries with the highest levels of imports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments in 2021 were Germany (X units), France (X units), Spain (X units), Italy (X units), the Netherlands (X units) and Belgium (X units), together resulting at 72% of total import. Poland (X units) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 5% share, followed by Denmark (4.7%).
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +24.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X), France ($X) and Italy ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together accounting for 46% of total imports. Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland and Denmark lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 32%.
Poland, with a CAGR of +20.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in the European Union amounted to $X per unit, waning by -8.6% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a perceptible contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the import price increased by 14%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per unit), while Denmark ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
