Overall, consumption continues to indicate a abrupt slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, flax, tow and waste exports surged to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

France (X tons) and Belgium (X tons) dominates exports structure, together constituting X% of total exports. The following exporters - the Netherlands (X tons) and Lithuania (X tons) - each accounted for a less than X% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Lithuania (with a CAGR of +X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
