Imports in the EU
After three years of growth, overseas purchases of ferro-silicon decreased by X% to X tons in 2023. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of X%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2022, and then dropped in the following year.
In value terms, ferro-silicon imports contracted dramatically to $X in 2023. Overall, imports, however, posted perceptible growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2022, and then plummeted in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2023, the Netherlands (X tons), Germany (X tons), Italy (X tons), Spain (X tons) and Belgium (X tons) was the largest importer of ferro-silicon in the European Union, committing X% of total import. It was distantly followed by Austria (X tons), constituting a X% share of total imports. France (X tons), Poland (X tons), Sweden (X tons), Finland (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons) and Slovakia (X tons) held a little share of total imports.

As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton, and then shrank markedly in the following year.
