Moreover, France emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the European Union, with a CAGR of +11.6% from 2012-2021. Italy and Austria experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. The Czech Republic (+6.8 p.p.), the Netherlands (+5.7 p.p.) and France (+2.6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Germany saw its share reduced by -14.9% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest electronic metal tester supplier in the European Union, comprising 54% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Netherlands ($X), with a 16% share of total exports. It was followed by Austria, with a 7.6% share.

In Germany, electronic metal tester exports plunged by an average annual rate of -4.1% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Netherlands (+14.1% per year) and Austria (+1.4% per year).

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X units in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years.
