Slovakia (X units), Hungary (X units), the Czech Republic (X units), Belgium (X units), Sweden (X units), France (X units) and Slovenia (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +11.2%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The Netherlands, Romania, Sweden, France, Spain, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia and Slovakia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 39%.

Among the main exporting countries, Romania, with a CAGR of +13.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the export price in the European Union amounted to $X per unit, with an increase of 7% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 8.2% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while Romania ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, domestic appliances imports soared to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.9% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +78.3% against 2015 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

The countries with the highest levels of domestic appliances imports in 2021 were Germany (X units), France (X units), Italy (X units), the Netherlands (X units), Spain (X units), Poland (X units), Belgium (X units), Sweden (X units), Romania (X units), the Czech Republic (X units), Hungary (X units) and Denmark (X units), together recording 87% of total import.

These countries were followed by Italy, Spain, Poland, Belgium, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Hungary and Romania, which together accounted for a further 40%.

In 2021, the import price in the European Union amounted to $X per unit, rising by 8.2% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.7%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 9.8%. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
