Exports in the EU

In 2022, shipments abroad of cumene decreased by X% to X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, exports showed a perceptible contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, cumene exports dropped markedly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, cumene imports reduced sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Belgium dominates imports structure, finishing at X tons, which was near X% of total imports in 2022. Italy (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a X% share, followed by the Netherlands (X%). The following importers - Germany (X tons) and Finland (X tons) - together made up X% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to cumene imports into Belgium stood at X%. At the same time, Finland (X%) and Italy (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Finland emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the European Union, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, the Netherlands (X%) and Germany (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period.
