Exports in the EU

In 2022, overseas shipments of chromates, dichromates and peroxochromates decreased by X% to X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Overall, exports continue to indicate a deep contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, chromates exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a deep slump. The level of export peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Belgium (X tons) represented the largest exporter of chromates, dichromates and peroxochromates, generating X% of total exports. Austria (X tons) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by the Netherlands (X%) and Germany (X%).
