Aluminium tube exports reduced to X tons in 2022, waning by X% against the previous year's figure. In general, exports continue to indicate a noticeable shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, aluminium tube exports amounted to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a noticeable slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by X%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Poland (X tons), distantly followed by Italy (X tons), Spain (X tons), Germany (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and Portugal (X tons) represented the key exporters of aluminium tubes and pipes, together generating X% of total exports. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while Slovenia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

After six years of decline, overseas purchases of aluminium tubes and pipes increased by X% to X tons in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, aluminium tube imports surged to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a modest increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by X% against 2020 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Romania (X tons) was the largest importer of aluminium tubes and pipes, committing X% of total imports. France (X tons) took a X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Germany (X%), Poland (X%), Italy (X%) and Spain (X%). Austria (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), Bulgaria (X tons), Hungary (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and Belgium (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Romania was also the fastest-growing in terms of the aluminium tubes and pipes imports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, the Czech Republic (X%), Germany (X%), Spain (X%) and Poland (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Austria (X%), France (X%), Bulgaria (X%), the Netherlands (X%), Hungary (X%), Belgium (X%) and Italy (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Romania increased by X percentage points. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Romania ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported aluminium tubes and pipes in the European Union, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by France ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by Germany, with an X% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Romania amounted to X%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (X% per year) and Germany (X% per year).
