In value terms, tea exports contracted sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Finland (X tons), Lithuania (X tons) and Latvia (X kg) were the main destinations of tea exports from Estonia, together accounting for X% of total exports. Germany, Russia, Denmark and Slovakia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Germany (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for tea exported from Estonia were Lithuania ($X), Finland ($X) and Germany ($X), with a combined X% share of total exports.

In 2022, purchases abroad of tea was finally on the rise to reach X tons after four years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a abrupt downturn.
