Vulcanised rubber thread imports into Egypt rose slightly to X tons in 2021, increasing by 3.1% on 2020 figures. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 478%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, vulcanised rubber thread imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports recorded a prominent expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 336% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Singapore (X tons), Malaysia (X tons) and Thailand (X tons) were the main suppliers of vulcanised rubber thread imports to Egypt, together comprising 19% of total imports. Luxembourg, France and China lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 2.4%.
