Madagascar, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Honduras, Guatemala, Argentina, China, Tunisia, Chile and Sudan lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 40%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Sudan (with a CAGR of +111.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Algeria ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and Italy ($X) were the largest markets for uncoated kraft liner exported from Egypt worldwide, with a combined 38% share of total exports. Madagascar, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Honduras, Guatemala, Argentina, China, Tunisia, Chile and Sudan lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 41%.
Among the main countries of destination, China, with a CAGR of +111.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average uncoated kraft liner export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 40% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a mild descent. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Italy ($X per ton) and Guatemala ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton) and China ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+19.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Egypt
Uncoated kraft liner imports into Egypt contracted to X tons in 2021, dropping by -7.8% compared with the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 36% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, uncoated kraft liner imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate modest growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 60% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
Russia (X tons), Finland (X tons) and Sweden (X tons) were the main suppliers of uncoated kraft liner imports to Egypt, with a combined 49% share of total imports. These countries were followed by the United States, Italy, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Portugal and Australia, which together accounted for a further 30%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Italy (with a CAGR of +75.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest uncoated kraft liner suppliers to Egypt were Russia ($X), Finland ($X) and Sweden ($X), together comprising 49% of total imports. These countries were followed by the United States, Italy, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Portugal and Australia, which together accounted for a further 30%.

The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were Australia ($X per ton) and Sweden ($X per ton), while the price for Italy ($X per ton) and Poland ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
