For the fourth year in a row, Egypt recorded growth in shipments abroad of tomato juice, which increased by X% to X tonnes in 2021. In general, exports continue to indicate significant growth. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country
Lebanon (X tonnes), Rwanda (X tonnes) and Romania (X tonnes) were the main destinations of tomato juice exports from Egypt, together accounting for X% of total exports. These countries were followed by Saudi Arabia, Oman, Poland, Jordan, Morocco, Libya, Singapore, Kenya and Zambia, which together accounted for a further X 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Oman (+X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Lebanon ($X) remains the key foreign market for tomato juice exports from Egypt, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Romania ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Rwanda, with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Lebanon totaled +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Romania (+X% per year) and Rwanda (X% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The average tomato juice export price stood at $X per tonne in 2021, surging by X% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a mild expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, tomato juice export price increased by +X% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $X per tonne in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Lebanon ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Jordan ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Lebanon (+X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Tomato Juice Imports
Imports into Egypt
In 2021, imports of tomato juice into Egypt skyrocketed to X tonnes, increasing by X% compared with the year before. Overall, imports, however, saw a pronounced slump. Imports peaked at X tonnes in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, tomato juice imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a perceptible increase. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Spain (X tonnes) constituted the largest supplier of tomato juice to Egypt, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, tomato juice imports from Spain exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Austria (X tonnes), fourfold. Cyprus (X kg) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Spain stood at -X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Austria (+X% per year) and Cyprus (-X% per year).

In 2021, the average tomato juice import price amounted to $X per tonne, picking up by X% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Spain ($X per tonne), while the price for Cyprus ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
