In 2022, overseas shipments of sawnwood decreased by X% to X cubic meters, falling for the second year in a row after three years of growth. In general, exports, however, enjoyed a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X cubic meters in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, sawnwood exports contracted notably to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by X%. The exports peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Turkey (X cubic meters) was the main destination for sawnwood exports from Egypt, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, sawnwood exports to Turkey exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Sri Lanka (X cubic meters), threefold.
