From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of volume to Libya amounted to +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: South Korea (X% per year) and Saudi Arabia (-X% per year).

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. In 2020, supplies from abroad of ginger increased by X% to X tonnes, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. Overall, imports saw buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Imports peaked in 2020 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

In value terms, ginger imports surged to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate strong growth. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

China (X tonnes), Nigeria (X tonnes) and India (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of ginger imports to Egypt, with a combined X% share of total imports.

From 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in Nigeria (+X% per year), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, China ($X), Nigeria ($X) and India ($X) appeared to be the largest ginger suppliers to Egypt, together comprising X% of total imports.
