Eggplant Market Size in Egypt

The Egyptian eggplant market surged to $X in 2019, picking up by X% against the previous year. In value terms, eggplant exports rose markedly to $X in 2019. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed strong growth. Exports by Country

Syrian Arab Republic (X tonnes), Saudi Arabia (X tonnes) and Russia (X tonnes) were the main destinations of eggplant exports from Egypt, together comprising X% of total exports. These countries were followed by Romania, Kuwait, Seychelles and the United Arab Emirates, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2019, the biggest increases were in Seychelles (+X% per year), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Syrian Arab Republic ($X) remains the key foreign market for eggplant exports from Egypt, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Saudi Arabia ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Romania, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2019, the average annual growth rate of value to Syrian Arab Republic totaled +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Saudi Arabia (+X% per year) and Romania (+X% per year).

The average eggplant export price stood at $X per tonne in 2019, increasing by X% against the previous year. In general, the export price enjoyed resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2009 an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, average export prices attained the maximum in 2019 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Syrian Arab Republic ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
