The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by X% year-to-year. Exports peaked at $X in 2010; however, from 2011 to 2018, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Italy (X tonnes), the United Arab Emirates (X tonnes) and Saudi Arabia (X tonnes) were the main destinations of coconut exports from Egypt, with a combined X% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Qatar and Norway, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of exports, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Qatar, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Saudi Arabia ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for coconut exports from Egypt, comprising X% of total coconut exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Norway, with a X% share.
From 2007 to 2018, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Saudi Arabia was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United Arab Emirates (+X% per year) and Norway (+X% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2018, the average coconut export price amounted to $X per tonne, jumping by X% against the previous year. In general, the coconut export price continues to indicate a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2012 when the average export price increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, the average export prices for coconuts attained their maximum at $X per tonne in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2018, export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2018, the country with the highest price was Norway ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Italy ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Norway, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Egypt
In 2018, the imports of coconuts into Egypt totaled X tonnes, declining by -X% against the previous year. In general, coconut imports continue to indicate a drastic decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2012 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, coconut imports reached their maximum at X tonnes in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2018, imports failed to regain their momentum.
In value terms, coconut imports stood at $X in 2018. In general, coconut imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. In that year, coconut imports attained their peak of $X. From 2014 to 2018, the growth of coconut imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Cote d'Ivoire (X tonnes), Brazil (X tonnes) and Vietnam (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of coconut imports to Egypt, with a combined X% share of total imports.
From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of imports, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Brazil, while the other leaders experienced a decline.
In value terms, Vietnam ($X), Indonesia ($X) and Cote d'Ivoire ($X) constituted the largest coconut suppliers to Egypt, together accounting for X% of total imports. These countries were followed by Sri Lanka, Brazil and Malaysia, which together accounted for a further X the main suppliers, Brazil recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to imports, over the last eleven-year period, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the coconut import price continues to indicate a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average import prices for coconuts reached their maximum at $X per tonne in 2010; however, from 2011 to 2018, import prices failed to regain their momentum.
