The volume of export peaked at X units in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, exports of iron or steel doors, thresholds for doors and windows declined to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, recorded strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 51% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2021, and then declined in the following year.
Exports by Country
Ghana dominates windows structure, resulting at X units, which was approx. 86% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Togo (X units), achieving a 4.6% share of total exports. Senegal (X units) and Nigeria (X units) held a relatively small share of total exports.
Ghana was also the fastest-growing in terms of the iron or steel doors, thresholds for doors and windows exports, with a CAGR of +73.9% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Togo (+15.5%) and Senegal (+13.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Nigeria (-14.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In Ghana, exports of iron or steel doors, thresholds for doors and windows increased at an average annual rate of +72.4% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Senegal (+13.5% per year) and Togo (+17.0% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in ECOWAS stood at $X per unit in 2022, increasing by 7.5% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the export price increased by 61% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Senegal ($X per unit), while Ghana ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Togo (+1.3%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in ECOWAS
In 2022, purchases abroad of iron or steel doors, thresholds for doors and windows decreased by -20.4% to X units, falling for the second year in a row after four years of growth. In general, imports saw a abrupt contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 48% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, imports of iron or steel doors, thresholds for doors and windows declined to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a perceptible downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 85% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Ghana (X units) and Nigeria (X units) dominates windows structure, together achieving 80% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Togo (X units), creating a 7.5% share of total imports. Import price indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the last decade.
