Ghana was the largest exporter of dolls and toys in ECOWAS, with the volume of exports accounting for X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2022. Cote d'Ivoire (X tons) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Niger (X%). The following exporters - Senegal (X tons), Togo (X tons) and Benin (X tons) - each accounted for a X% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to toy exports from Ghana stood at X%. At the same time, Togo (X%), Benin (X%), Niger (X%) and Senegal (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, toy imports reduced to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of X%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.

The purchases of the four major importers of dolls and toys, namely Cote d'Ivoire, Senegal, Ghana and Nigeria, represented more than two-thirds of total import. It was distantly followed by Guinea (X tons), comprising a X% share of total imports. Mali (X tons) and Burkina Faso (X tons) took a relatively small share of total imports.
