Exports in Eastern Europe

In 2022, shipments abroad of athletic footwear decreased by X% to X pairs, falling for the second consecutive year after nine years of growth. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a prominent increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X pairs in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, athletic footwear exports shrank slightly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. Slovakia (X pairs) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by the Czech Republic (X%), Romania (X%) and Hungary (X%). Bulgaria (X pairs) and Estonia (X pairs) followed a long way behind the leaders.
