Shipping Production in Eastern Europe
In value terms, shipping production rose rapidly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. The total production indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. Exports in Eastern Europe
In 2022, after three years of decline, there was significant growth in shipments abroad of ships, vessels, ferry-boats for the transport of persons, when their volume increased by X% to X units. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, shipping exports contracted dramatically to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
In 2022, the Czech Republic (X units) represented the largest exporter of ships, vessels, ferry-boats for the transport of persons, constituting X% of total exports. Slovakia (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Ukraine (X%) and Poland (X%). Russia (X units), Estonia (X units) and Hungary (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Slovakia (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest shipping supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Estonia ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by the Czech Republic, with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Poland was relatively modest. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Estonia (X% per year) and the Czech Republic (X% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X,858 per unit in 2022, with a decrease of X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a temperate increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the export price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X,473 per unit in 2021, and then declined sharply in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X,605 per unit), while Hungary ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Eastern Europe
In 2022, overseas purchases of ships, vessels, ferry-boats for the transport of persons increased by X% to X units for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports saw perceptible growth. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, shipping imports surged to $X in 2022. In general, imports posted a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by X%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Estonia (X units) and Slovakia (X units) represented roughly X% of total imports in 2022. Russia (X units) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a X% share, followed by Romania (X%). Hungary (X units) took a little share of total imports.
