Patent Leather Exports

Exports in Eastern Europe

After three years of decline, overseas shipments of patent leather, patent laminated leather and metallised leather increased by X% to X square meters in 2022. Total exports indicated mild growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X square meters in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, patent leather exports fell notably to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then shrank dramatically in the following year.

In 2022, Poland (X square meters), distantly followed by Romania (X square meters), Estonia (X square meters), Russia (X square meters), Slovakia (X square meters), Hungary (X square meters) and Lithuania (X square meters) were the key exporters of patent leather, patent laminated leather and metallised leather, together generating X% of total exports.

As a result, imports attained the peak of X square meters. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
