Exports of Oils And Other Products Of The Distillation Of High Temperature Coal Tar

Exports in Eastern Europe

In 2022, overseas shipments of oils and other products of the distillation of high temperature coal tar decreased by X% to X tons for the first time since 2017, thus ending a four-year rising trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2021, and then contracted significantly in the following year.

In value terms, oils from coal tar exports fell significantly to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2021, and then fell remarkably in the following year.

Exports by Country

Russia was the largest exporting country with an export of around X tons, which finished at X% of total exports. Estonia (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Poland (X tons) and Bulgaria (X tons). All these countries together took approx. X% share of total exports. The following exporters - Belarus (X tons), Slovakia (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) - together made up X% of total exports.

Exports from Russia increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Bulgaria (X%), Estonia (X%), Poland (X%), Hungary (X%), Slovakia (X%) and Belarus (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Bulgaria emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Russia, Estonia, Bulgaria and Poland increased by X, X, X and X percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($X per ton), while Bulgaria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (X%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in Eastern Europe

After two years of growth, purchases abroad of oils and other products of the distillation of high temperature coal tar decreased by X% to X tons in 2022. In general, imports, however, posted a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2021, and then shrank rapidly in the following year.

In value terms, oils from coal tar imports dropped remarkably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a remarkable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by X%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then reduced remarkably in the following year.

Imports by Country

Estonia was the major importing country with an import of about X tons, which amounted to X% of total imports. Poland (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Hungary (X tons), Lithuania (X tons) and Bulgaria (X tons). All these countries together held near X% share of total imports.
