Exports in Eastern Europe

For the third year in a row, Eastern Europe recorded growth in shipments abroad of maleic anhydride, which increased by X% to X tons in 2022. Total exports indicated a temperate increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by X% against 2019 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, maleic anhydride exports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

Hungary was the main exporting country with an export of about X tons, which finished at X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Russia (X tons), achieving a X% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to maleic anhydride exports from Hungary stood at X%. At the same time, Russia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Russia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by X% against 2012 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by X%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then dropped markedly in the following year.

The following importers - Hungary (X tons), Slovakia (X tons) and Bulgaria (X tons) - together made up X% of total imports.
