Paper Label Market Size in Eastern Europe

The East European paper label market rose slightly to $X in 2022, surging by X% against the previous year. In general, consumption, however, continues to indicate a noticeable setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Paper Label Exports

Exports in Eastern Europe

In 2022, after two years of growth, there was decline in shipments abroad of labels of paper or paperboard, when their volume decreased by X% to X tons. In general, exports, however, recorded strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2021, and then contracted slightly in the following year.

In value terms, paper label exports dropped slightly to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a resilient expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by X% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2021, and then contracted slightly in the following year.

Exports by Country

Poland represented the main exporter of labels of paper or paperboard in Eastern Europe, with the volume of exports reaching X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. Russia (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by the Czech Republic (X tons), Romania (X tons), Latvia (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and Lithuania (X tons). All these countries together took near X% share of total exports.

Exports from Poland increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Russia (X%), Romania (X%), the Czech Republic (X%), Hungary (X%), Lithuania (X%) and Latvia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Russia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. While the share of Russia (X p.p.), Romania (X p.p.) and Poland (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Lithuania (X p.p.) and Latvia (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest paper label supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Czech Republic ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Romania, with a X% share.

In Poland, paper label exports increased at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Czech Republic (X% per year) and Romania (X% per year).

In 2022, the export price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per ton, almost unchanged from the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a mild slump. From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Latvia (X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, approx. X tons of labels of paper or paperboard were imported in Eastern Europe; with an increase of X% compared with the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, paper label imports rose modestly to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
