For the third year in a row, the East European market for jams, jellies, puree and pastes recorded growth in sales value, which increased by X% to $X in 2022. The market value increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The level of consumption peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, jam, jelly, puree and paste production expanded modestly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production, however, saw a slight decline. Exports of Jams, Jellies, Puree and Pastes

Exports in Eastern Europe

After two years of growth, overseas shipments of jams, jellies, puree and pastes decreased by X% to X tons in 2022. Total exports indicated temperate growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by X% against 2012 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons, and then declined modestly in the following year.

In value terms, jam, jelly, puree and paste exports amounted to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by X% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Exports by Country

Poland represented the key exporter of jams, jellies, puree and pastes in Eastern Europe, with the volume of exports reaching X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. Russia (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Belarus (X%), the Czech Republic (X%) and Bulgaria (X%). The following exporters - Moldova (X tons) and Latvia (X tons) - each recorded an X% share of total exports.

Exports from Poland increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Russia (X%), Moldova (X%), Bulgaria (X%) and Belarus (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Russia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. The Czech Republic experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Latvia (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Russia (X p.p.) and Poland (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while the Czech Republic and Latvia saw its share reduced by X% and X% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest jam, jelly, puree and paste supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Russia ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by the Czech Republic, with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Poland amounted to X%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Russia (X% per year) and the Czech Republic (X% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Latvia ($X per ton), while Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belarus (X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, jam, jelly, puree and paste imports expanded remarkably to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

Imports by Country

Russia represented the largest importer of jams, jellies, puree and pastes in Eastern Europe, with the volume of imports finishing at X tons, which was near X% of total imports in 2022. Belarus (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by the Czech Republic (X tons), Poland (X tons), Romania (X tons), Slovakia (X tons) and Hungary (X tons). All these countries together took approx. X% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to jam, jelly, puree and paste imports into Russia stood at X%. At the same time, Belarus (X%), Romania (X%), Poland (X%), Hungary (X%), the Czech Republic (X%) and Slovakia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth.
