The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X cubic meters in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country
The Czech Republic was the key importer of hydrogen in Eastern Europe, with the volume of imports amounting to X cubic meters, which was near X% of total imports in 2022. Slovakia (X cubic meters) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Poland (X%) and Romania (X%). Bulgaria (X cubic meters) took a relatively small share of total imports.
Imports into the Czech Republic increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Bulgaria (X%) and Slovakia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Bulgaria emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Poland (X%) and Romania (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Slovakia (X p.p.) and the Czech Republic (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Romania and Poland saw its share reduced by X% and X% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.
