Exports in Eastern Europe
In 2022, exports of filter paper and paperboard cut to shape in Eastern Europe declined to X tons, which is down by X% on 2021. In general, exports, however, showed a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, filter paper exports totaled $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
Poland represented the main exporting country with an export of about X tons, which amounted to X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Russia (X tons), making up a X% share of total exports. The following exporters - Hungary (X tons) and the Czech Republic (X tons) - each reached a X% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to filter paper exports from Poland stood at X%. At the same time, Hungary (X%) and Russia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Hungary emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. The Czech Republic experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2012 to 2022, the share of the Czech Republic decreased by X percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of X%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($X per ton), while Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hungary (X%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in Eastern Europe
Filter paper imports shrank markedly to X tons in 2022, reducing by X% on 2021 figures. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a pronounced expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of X%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2021, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, filter paper imports contracted dramatically to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then shrank notably in the following year.
Imports by Country
Russia represented the largest importer of filter paper and paperboard cut to shape in Eastern Europe, with the volume of imports amounting to X tons, which was near X% of total imports in 2022.
