Exports in Eastern Europe

In 2022, shipments abroad of electrical capacitors increased by X% to X units, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. In general, exports, however, saw a noticeable shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, capacitor exports rose to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

Exports by Country

The Czech Republic represented the major exporter of electrical capacitors in Eastern Europe, with the volume of exports amounting to X units, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Hungary (X units), making up a X% share of total exports. Romania (X units) and Poland (X units) took a little share of total exports.

For the third year in a row, Eastern Europe recorded decline in purchases abroad of electrical capacitors, which decreased by X% to X units in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a modest expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, capacitor imports reached $X in 2022. Total imports indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by X% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Imports by Country

Hungary was the main importer of electrical capacitors in Eastern Europe, with the volume of imports resulting at X units, which was near X% of total imports in 2022. Poland (X units) ranks second in terms of the total imports with an X% share, followed by Romania (X%), Slovakia (X%) and the Czech Republic (X%).

Imports into Hungary decreased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Slovakia (X%), Romania (X%) and Poland (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Slovakia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. The Czech Republic experienced a relatively flat trend pattern.
