After two years of decline, the East European truck crane market increased by 11% to $X in 2021. Overall, consumption continues to indicate resilient growth. Over the period under review, the market reached the maximum level in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
Truck Crane Production in Eastern Europe
In value terms, truck crane production reduced to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, recorded a deep reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the production volume increased by 45%. The level of production peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, production failed to regain momentum.

Exports in Eastern Europe
Truck crane exports skyrocketed to X units in 2021, picking up by 75% on the previous year. In general, exports saw prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 76% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, truck crane exports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a pronounced downturn. The level of export peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
The shipments of the four major exporters of truck cranes, namely Poland, the Czech Republic, Belarus and Russia, represented more than two-thirds of total export. It was distantly followed by Hungary (X units), mixing up a 7.6% share of total exports. Bulgaria (X units) and Estonia (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by the Czech Republic (with a CAGR of +31.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest truck crane supplying countries in Eastern Europe were Russia ($X), Belarus ($X) and Poland ($X), with a combined 83% share of total exports. These countries were followed by the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary and Bulgaria, which together accounted for a further 14%.
The Czech Republic, with a CAGR of +14.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per unit in 2021, rising by 1.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 an increase of 28%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2017 to 2021, the the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Bulgaria ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Estonia (+4.1%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in Eastern Europe
In 2021, supplies from abroad of truck cranes increased by 35% to X units, rising for the fifth year in a row after three years of decline. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate resilient growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 47%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, truck crane imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 57%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
Poland (X units) and Russia (X units) represented roughly 52% of total imports in 2021. Romania (X units) held an 11% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Ukraine (10%) and Bulgaria (9.3%). The following importers - the Czech Republic (X units) and Hungary (X units) - each reached a 7.3% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Hungary (with a CAGR of +65.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported truck cranes in Eastern Europe, comprising 52% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Poland ($X), with a 17% share of total imports. It was followed by the Czech Republic, with an 8.4% share.
In Russia, truck crane imports decreased by an average annual rate of -2.7% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Poland (+8.1% per year) and the Czech Republic (+17.4% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Eastern Europe amounted to $X per unit, rising by 5.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a abrupt downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the import price increased by 53%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2018 to 2021, the import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per unit), while Bulgaria ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
