Balloon And Dirigible Exports

Exports in Eastern Europe

In 2023, overseas shipments of balloons, dirigibles and other non-powered aircraft decreased by X% to X units, falling for the second year in a row after three years of growth. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2021; however, from 2022 to 2023, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, balloon and dirigible exports surged to $X in 2023. Total exports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2023: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last eleven-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2023 figures, exports increased by X% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2023 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Poland represented the largest exporting country with an export of around X units, which reached X% of total exports. The Czech Republic (X units) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Slovakia (X%). Bulgaria (X units) held a minor share of total exports.

Poland was also the fastest-growing in terms of the balloons, dirigibles and other non-powered aircraft exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Bulgaria (X%), Slovakia (X%) and the Czech Republic (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. From 2012 to 2023, the share of Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic increased by X, X and X percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

Overall, imports continue to indicate a notable expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by X%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, balloon and dirigible imports soared to $X in 2023. In general, imports, however, showed a mild decline. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Russia represented the largest importing country with an import of around X units, which accounted for X% of total imports. The Czech Republic (X units) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Ukraine (X%), Poland (X%) and Romania (X%). The Czech Republic (X p.p.), Ukraine (X p.p.), Romania (X p.p.) and Bulgaria (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Poland and Russia saw its share reduced by X% and X% from 2012 to 2023, respectively.
