Exports in Eastern Europe

In 2022, approx. X units of cigarettes containing tobacco were exported in Eastern Europe; standing approx. at 2021. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X units in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, cigarettes containing tobacco exports expanded modestly to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by X% against 2020 indices. Poland represented the largest exporter of cigarettes containing tobacco in Eastern Europe, with the volume of exports recording X units, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2022. Lithuania (X units) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Romania (X units) and the Czech Republic (X units). All these countries together took approx. X% share of total exports. Russia (X units), Ukraine (X units) and Hungary (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to cigarettes containing tobacco exports from Poland stood at X%. At the same time, Lithuania (X%), the Czech Republic (X%) and Romania (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Lithuania emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Eastern Europe, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Hungary experienced a relatively flat trend pattern.
