Aluminium Tube Exports

Exports in Eastern Europe

After two years of growth, overseas shipments of aluminium tubes and pipes decreased by X% to X tons in 2022. Overall, exports saw a perceptible contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then contracted sharply in the following year.

In value terms, aluminium tube exports dropped dramatically to $X in 2022. In general, exports saw a pronounced shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Poland dominates exports structure, reaching X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Russia (X tons), achieving a X% share of total exports. The following exporters - the Czech Republic (X tons) and Ukraine (X tons) - each amounted to a X% share of total exports.

Poland experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of aluminium tubes and pipes. Ukraine (X%), Russia (X%) and the Czech Republic (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Poland (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of the Czech Republic (X p.p.) and Russia (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Poland ($X) remains the largest aluminium tube supplier in Eastern Europe, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Russia ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by the Czech Republic, with a X% share.

In Poland, aluminium tube exports expanded at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Russia (X% per year) and the Czech Republic (X% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Eastern Europe stood at $X per ton in 2022, jumping by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a slight setback. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per ton), while Ukraine ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of aluminium tubes and pipes was finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2016, thus ending a five-year declining trend. Total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, aluminium tube imports soared to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by X% against 2020 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Romania (X tons) was the main importer of aluminium tubes and pipes, mixing up X% of total imports. Russia (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with an X% share, followed by Poland (X%) and the Czech Republic (X%). The following importers - Bulgaria (X tons), Belarus (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) - each accounted for a X% share of total imports.
