In value terms, China ($X) also remains the largest sugar crop supplier in Eastern Asia.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by export prices for China.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2010, with an increase of X% against the previous year. In that year, the sugar crop imports attained their peak volume of X tonnes. From 2011 to 2017, growth of the sugar crop imports stood at a somewhat lower level.
In value terms, sugar crop imports amounted to $X in 2017. The sugar crop imports continue to indicate a remarkable increase. Over the period under review, the sugar crop imports reached its peak figure level in 2017, and are expected to retain its growth in the immediate term.

South Korea (+X% per year) recorded the highest growth rate of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the last decade, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Sugar Crop Import Prices by Country in Eastern Asia
The sugar crop import price in Eastern Asia stood at $X per tonne in 2017, growing by X% against the previous year. The import price indicated a prominent growth from 2007 to 2017: its price increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2017 figures, the sugar crop import price increased by +X% against 2007 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011, an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, the import prices for sugar crops reached its maximum level in 2017, and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average import prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2017, the country with the highest import price was Japan ($X per tonne), while China ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
