Exports in Eastern Asia

In 2022, overseas shipments of potato starch were finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, exports, however, recorded a pronounced descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, potato starch exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

China was the largest exporting country with an export of about X tons, which amounted to X% of total exports. Hong Kong SAR (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Democratic People's Republic of Korea (X tons) and Japan (X tons). All these countries together took near X% share of total exports. Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) and South Korea (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
