Exports in Eastern Asia
In 2022, extracts of tea exports in Eastern Asia shrank to X tons, waning by X% on the year before. Total exports indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by X% against 2020 indices. In 2022, purchases abroad of extracts, essences and concentrates of tea or mate was finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by X%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, extracts of tea imports dropped to $X in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
