Exports in Eastern Asia

In 2018, the exports of coins in Eastern Asia amounted to X tons, surging by X% against the previous year. In general, coin exports, however, continue to indicate a drastic reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, coin exports reached their maximum at X tons in 2010; however, from 2011 to 2018, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, coin exports totaled $X in 2018. In general, coin exports, however, continue to indicate a conspicuous expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2009 with an increase of X% against the previous year. In that year, coin exports reached their peak of $X. From 2010 to 2018, the growth of coin exports failed to regain its momentum.

Exports by Country

China prevails in coin exports structure, finishing at X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2018. It was distantly followed by China, Hong Kong SAR (X kg), making up a X% share of total exports. South Korea (X kg) and Taiwan, Chinese (X kg) held a relatively small share of total exports.

China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern of coins exports. China, Hong Kong SAR (-X%), South Korea (-X%) and Taiwan, Chinese (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. China (-X p.p.), China, Hong Kong SAR (-X p.p.), South Korea (-X p.p.) and Taiwan, Chinese (-X p.p.) significantly weakened its position in terms of the total exports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest coin supplier in Eastern Asia, comprising X% of total coin exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by China, Hong Kong SAR ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by South Korea, with a X% share.

In China, coin exports increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2007-2018. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: China, Hong Kong SAR (-X% per year) and South Korea (+X% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2018, the coin export price in Eastern Asia amounted to $X per ton, increasing by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the coin export price continues to indicate buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2009 when the export price increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, the export prices for coins attained their peak figure at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2018, export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2018, the country with the highest price was China, Hong Kong SAR ($X per ton), while Taiwan, Chinese ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2018, the amount of coins imported in Eastern Asia stood at X tons, surging by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, coin imports continue to indicate a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of X% y-o-y. The volume of imports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2018, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, coin imports stood at $X in 2018. Overall, coin imports continue to indicate a prominent expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of X% y-o-y. The level of imports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2018, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Taiwan, Chinese prevails in coin imports structure, amounting to X tons, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2018. China (X tons) and China, Hong Kong SAR (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
